Sterner Screw Machine is a second-generation owned Illinois based CNC and automatic screw machine company that produces world class precision metal fastener components. We have a combination of equipment that allows us to manufacture cost effectively for both small and large volume ranges. Our company has been producing high quality precision-machined components since 1986. We operate from a 15,000 sqft manufacturing facility located in Rockford, Illinois.

The company was established by Mr. James H. Sterner Sr. 81, of Winnebago IL. In memoriam James H. Sterner Sr. (1939—2021) He was born on October 19, 1939 in Rockford, Illinois. He spent many years as a firefighter at the Blackhawk Fire Department. He established Sterner Screw Machine Inc. and spent 40 years as a dedicated business owner in the Rockford area. James enjoyed woodworking, and had a love for building things. The company is currently managed by second generation family owner Ms. Laura Mason (daughter of James H. Sterner Sr) and Plant Manager Mark Sterner (son of James H. Sterner Sr).

On August 2023, Genesys Industries acquired 100% of Sterner Screw Machine. Genesys Industries is an ISO 9001 & AS9100 Rev D certified manufacturer of precision machined components for industry. The company is a full-service manufacturer with extensive precision product and assembly capabilities. The core focus is the precision manufacturing of threaded and non-threaded screw machined components.
